Stéphanie and Victor's wedding: tea ceremony, Paris 14th town hall and a reception at Hôtel de Poulpry

On 27 June 2026, Stéphanie and Victor said "yes" in Paris, at the end of a day full of tradition and emotion. I covered the video for the entire day, alongside photographer Celie Scott, who handled the photo coverage. A smooth collaboration, essential for splitting viewpoints without ever getting in each other's way, and for capturing every moment from the best angle.

The day opened with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, continued with the civil wedding at the 14th arrondissement town hall in Paris, and ended with an elegant reception at La Maison des Polytechniciens, in the historic Hôtel de Poulpry. Three venues, three atmospheres, one single day to tell through film.

A traditional Chinese tea ceremony, full of emotion

Before the civil ceremony, Stéphanie and Victor chose to honour the Chinese tea ceremony tradition: the couple serves tea to their parents and family members as a sign of respect and gratitude, receiving blessings and red envelopes in return. An intimate, symbol-laden moment that I filmed with particular attention to glances, gestures and the words exchanged — far more than wide establishing shots, the very essence of this tradition.

Documenting a tea ceremony requires understanding its structure and meaning in order to capture, on film, the respect and emotion that run through it. It's an exercise I particularly enjoy: every multicultural wedding has its own rituals, and it matters to me to film them with accuracy and care.

Civil wedding at Paris 14th arrondissement town hall

The civil ceremony took place at the 14th arrondissement town hall, in a wedding room with a sober, light-filled setting. I captured the exchange of vows, the reading of the Civil Code articles, the emotion of witnesses and loved ones, and the couple's first moments as newlyweds leaving the town hall — smiles, applause and confetti included.

Reception at La Maison des Polytechniciens – Hôtel de Poulpry

The reception was held at La Maison des Polytechniciens, at Hôtel de Poulpry, an 18th-century townhouse in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Its richly decorated rooms, adorned with period mouldings and gilding, offer a setting that is both prestigious and intimate — ideal for filming a cocktail hour, a seated dinner and a dance party with the same aesthetic care from start to finish.

I paid particular attention to the natural light in the rooms in the late afternoon, then to the more intimate atmosphere of the evening: speeches, first dances, and all the small stolen moments between the big wedding rituals.
